Pieced Lone Star quilt is made from cotton fabrics in solid colors of red, white and blue. The eight-pointed star is made of diamonds in concentric rows of red, white and blue. The quilt has an inner border of solid red, a middle border of solid white, and an outer border of solid blue. The star and border are hand-pieced. The binding is the white cotton fabric of the back brought to the front, and it is machine-sewn. The quilting motif is one-inch square hatching in the setting pieces, and outline quilting in the diamonds of the star and the outline pieces. This quilt dates from 1910-1923.
